By Eddie Bowley 3rd February 2002 - 21st February 2004 When I first launched Bollox Comics in 2002, BotR were the first comics I made for it. After having seen the first Lord Of the Rings film directed by Peter Jackson, I wanted to make a spoof comic strip in similar style to the humour of David Zucker, Mel Brooks and Jim Abrahams. Originally it was only going to be one strip (the “You shall not pass!” gag), but I felt I ought to build up to it more and decided to parody the whole film. The three storylines were by far the most popular with fans. Each time I started the next BotR storyline, my visitor hit count would boom and regularly gained high praise. Each of the characters are based upon their film counter-parts but with added twists (i.e. Fropoo and Sam have American accents, much like Elijah Wood and Sean Astin, the actors from the original film).
