What Is The British Webcomic Piss-Up?
The ’British Webcomic Piss-Up 5’ is an effort to bring together as many British webcomics possible to celebrate St George’s Day. There’s only two rules to join. 1- The author/s must be British (either British born or currently residing in the UK). 2- This year’s theme is Shields. This means on 23rd April 2007, all participating webcomics need to post a comic relating to shields in any way they wish. That’s all there is to it! We also ask that you provide a link to this site with the banners or buttons available here.

Why St George’s Day?
Due to polictical correctness and whatnot, St George’s Day has been demoted to a forgotten day of the calendar. So this annual event was established to celebrate St George’s Day the only way we know how - with a right royal piss-up! This isn’t about ’English Pride’ (hence why anyone in the UK can join in), it’s about having any good excuse to throw a party!

So, What’s The Point Of The British Webcomic Piss-Up?
With each participant linking to this site, it forms a mass UK link exchange which will raise more awareness of British webcomics. We also hope to gain the support of popular comic communities and websites, even if they’re not British. Plus it’s nice bit of fun doing a group project every now and again!

How Do I Join In?
Simply contact us at eddache AT gmail.com (exchange 'AT' for '@') with your name and the title & URL of your webcomic (Note: Please make ’St George’ as your subject line). All the webcomics involved with be added to the main list on the front page of this site. Closing date to join is 20th April 2007.

What's The Free Advertising All About?
Anyone taking part in the Piss-Up is allowed a free ad slot if they want it. These ad images are on a random rotation with all submitted. Authors taking part in the Piss-Up can submit one 200 pixel wide x 350 pixel tall image of their own design to link to their own sites anytime they want. The offer is there, for free, for anyone involved. These ads will stay on the site until May 1st 2007.
